Nexus

Summary

Engineered an advanced multi-functional insect eradication system, seamlessly integrating four distinct technologies—UV light, UV-C sterilization, scent-based attractants, and vacuum suction—to enhance the efficacy of gnat and fruit fly population control within residential environments.

Key contributions

  • Facilitated communication between English, Spanish, and Italian-speaking team members,

  • Created a collaborative environment for development. Helped assign tasks, and develop the product roadmap

Debrief

Design and develop a device that lures and traps gnats and fruit flies in a home when there is a bug problem

Research

Before developing the device architecture, we first needed to identify the most effective methods for eliminating gnats and fruit flies. We compiled a Miro board with various insect eradication techniques and conducted thorough research to evaluate their effectiveness. Expanding our analysis, we explored a broader range of products utilizing suction, UV lights, aerosol sprays, and sticky traps to determine the most optimal approach for developing the best possible solution.
